Prepare to be amazed by our new album, a true collaboration between Colin Orr of Janus and the latest AI creations: ChatGPT and Suno. Colin continues to craft music in a traditional manner, while ChatGPT adds an original twist to the lyrics. This unique partnership then feeds into Suno, the music creation model, to produce "cover versions" that often steer the music in unexpected and brilliant directions. The resulting music is then brought back into a traditional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for further development, creating a final version that is a testament to the seamless collaboration between human creativity and AI interpretation. Who is J AI NUS for?
This page is dedicated to the thousands of Janus fans, both old and new, who might not yet know about our innovative journey. We also extend a warm invitation to Pink Floyd enthusiasts, many of whom may not be aware that while EMI Harvest launched Pink Floyd globally, EMI Harvest in Germany was signing Janus, a band that emerged from "Dead Buzzard" in the late 1960s, creating and performing in a very similar progressive rock style. We aim to link the songs from the new "J AI NUS" album from Spotify and explain their fascinating origins. While Floyd may have moved on decades ago, behind the scenes, a fantastic library of music has continued to grow. Join us in celebrating this ongoing musical evolution.

Janus and the AI revolution
We remember the uproar when the first synthesizers appeared, with purists crying, "They aren't real musical instruments!" The industry has always resisted new technology, from recording tapes and CDs to streaming. AI is the ultimate expression of this new technology, which, on one hand, threatens to make the human creator, performer, engineer, producer, and even the record company, obsolete. Yet, in our shame-faced trips to traditional recording studios, "professionals" have, and will continue to, incorporate what AI can do into music. It's becoming evident that someone with no musical skills can sit in front of a computer with a song idea, perhaps a poem, and within five minutes, use AI to produce a high-quality, sometimes excellent, piece of music, releasing it globally via streaming services. Janus are simply the pioneers. Again.
